Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced’s Save the Train BBQ on Friday, October 12, 2007 was a great success despite the rain.

Wow! What can I say other than we have an awesome club. Despite the rain, wind, and the fact that our decorations, etc…melted, we had a successful event. I truly stressed all day about the impending rain and had a difficult time finding the silver lining in the cloud. When will I learn to just go with the flow…hopefully after this day!

50 Years of Serving the Community and Proud of It

As President Elect of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced, I am proud of our club’s community involvement. Our major project is Kiddieland in Applegate Park. The year 2007 marks our 50 year celebration of Kiddieland. A smile comes to my face every time I recall the images of glowing faces on the children and adults who visit Kiddieland.

Kiwanis Kiddieland was started locally by our founding Kiwanis members in 1957 with the intention of providing a safe and friendly environment for the community’s children to enjoy an amusement park setting at an affordable cost.
